End of Term Newsletter 2020
Sudden School Closure
School closed on the day we celebrated Seachtain na Gaeilge. It was a lovely afternoon of music, poetry and dance.
Well done to everyone for navigating remote school learning. It was a sudden challenge for us all and we had to adapt quickly to our new reality of zooming and see-sawing. Thank you to parents, children and teachers for all the hardwork.
Green School Programme
We have been awarded our 7th Green School Flag. Well done everyone for reducing waste, and plastic use in school. It was a great effort. Thank you to Ms Bourke for coordinating this programme. We will celebrate this in the coming school year.
Reopening School
The Department of Education has announced the reopening of schools for the next academic year. We hope to reopen on Thursday 27th August. Despite announcement, we have not, as yet, been given any specific instructions regarding social distancing and hygiene.
Next year’s classrooms: Due to the distribution of pupil numbers throughout the school, classrooms will be re-allocated; 4th, 5th and 6th classes will be upstairs with Ms Donaghy, 2nd and 3rd will be downstairs with Ms Bourke and Junior Infants, Senior Infants and 1st will be downstairs with Ms Brickenden.
Save our Site
Thank you for supporting our campaign to make the Dept of Education change its decision to “shoehorn” another school on our site. By now you will have received a template letter to email to An Taoiseach. Please share this with friends and family asking them to support us.
