Spring Term Newsletter 2018
The children are involved in lots of activities. The middle and senior rooms took part in swimming, soccer and spikeball. We made soup at harvest time and enjoyed dressing up day. Finally everyone performed brilliantly in the Christmas Concert.

School Opening Time
School opens at 9.05am. Children are supervised from 8.55am. There is NO supervision before this time. Lessons commence at 9.25am Please ensure you arrive before 9.25 as homework and corrections etc are addressed at this time. Late entry disrupts your child’s day. Junior and Senior Infant collection is at 1.45pm and 2.45pm for the remaining classes. Please collect infants promptly at 1.45pm. This ensures first class have their teacher to themselves for the last hour of the day.

Friendship Week
Friendship Week takes place from 5th -14th February. All the children will take part in Anti-Bullying Workshops .We want to discuss and learn about how to be a good friend. We want to teach the children about respect, tolerance and resilience. We have all sorts of activities planned; secret friend, break-time activities, running group and  whole school board games session on Wednesday 14th followed by our annual Friendship Feast. Please bring a suitable board game and a contribution to the feast (please  only Middle Room bring contribution- otherwise we have too much to eat!) but no crisps or fizzy drinks please.

Seachtain na Gaeilge
Please keep 1pm Thursday 15th March free as we will have an afternoon of Irish dancing and music with Bernadine and Des. All classes will perform dancing, drama poetry or music as Gaeilge.

Board of Management
We welcome new board member Cuala McGann as local representative.
Our new school site at the old Scoil Phadraig is currently being transferred from the Sisters of Mercy to the Dept Of Education. We are working closely with the Dept of Education to ensure that this process is moving and that our new school can be built as soon as possible. Our children deserve the best facilities.
The board has recently updated and ratified the Code of Behaviour. As we update new policies they will be made available to you for your ideas and suggestions.
