Summer Term Newsletter 2019
We look forward to a warm and sunny summer term with lots of activities to bring us up to the summer holidays.
The School Fair will take place on Saturday 25th May at 12.00. This year will be slightly different to previous years with lots of fun games, plenty of baked goodies and treats, face painting, tombola and of course teas/coffees and buns available upstairs. Help for attending stalls on the day and also with setting up on Friday evening (from 7-8pm) is always needed and appreciated. If you would like to volunteer please contact Bill Brady
This year we are very lucky to have a framed Mayo Jersey that has been signed by the entire Mayo Senior Football panel. We will be auctioning the jersey to the highest bidder on the day of the School Fair. Please spread the word to any football fans/sports memorabilia collectors/publicans etc. that you may know. The auction will begin at 1pm on May 25th.
Parents Association Elections
Elections will take place in June for the Parents Association for the school year 2019/2020. We would like to thank all the members of the current parents association for all their work throughout the year. We would also like to thank all the parents who have contributed in many and varied ways to help the Parents Association over the past school year.
Parent Association Meetings
Holy Trinity Parents Association Committee meetings are open to any person that should wish to attend. The next meeting will take place on May 22nd at 8pm in school.
Our Parents Association contributes greatly to our children’s school experience: ipads, IT support, playground equipment, contribution to school trips and activities. We are very grateful for the work they do.
We continue to enjoy Forest School. Each class has taken part lots of activities in a woodland setting. Art, science, IT, mindfulness and PE are some of the subjects we enjoy doing outdoors.
The Senior Room are doing drumming classes with Anthony McNamee this term. These will be subsidised by the Parents Association and there will be a small charge for these enjoyable classes.
Each room will go on an outing. The Senior Room are going to Bay Sports in Athlone. The Middle Room are going to the zoo and the Junior Room are going to Westport House. More details to follow from your class teacher.
Each year we have Active Week in which children have the opportunity to experience new activities. Active week will take place from 10th to 13th June. If you would like to share your skills with the children please get in contact with school. In previous years we have had karate, mindfulness, pilates and fitness work.
Sports Day will take place on Thursday 13th June. Please dress appropriately and have a big lunch. Please note healthy lunches, no crisps, chocolate or fizzy drinks. Thank you.
The board of management was told that the transfer of Scoil Phadraig site to the Dept of Education would be completed by Easter. I am recently informed that it is almost finalised. It has been incredibly frustrating for us all, but we continue to press on towards building a new school.
We are updating our Music and Maths Policies. Please see them on our school website. If you have a contribution or comment to make please put in writing and email to school by Friday 24th May.

National Education Welfare Board
The school is obliged to advise the board if a child is absent for 20 days or more in the school year. If your child is absent from school for any reason it is very important that you inform the school.
School finishes on Tuesday 25th June at 12.30pm. On this day we welcome the new children and everyone moves up to their new class. School will reopen on Thursday 29th August.
